About Xoriant:
Xoriant was one such company for which I was searching whole over the Internet but was not able to find any relevant information regarding its placement process. This prompted me to give you all the brief description of the Xoriant placement process. First things first, Xoriant is a Software product development company. Placement Process:
General outline of the Xoriant Placement Process:

  • Pre-Placement talk
  • Online Aptitude Test
  • Group Discussion
  • Technical Interview
  • HR and Management Interview

Pre-Placement talk:
Now coming to the placement process, it is slightly different from that of TCS. Firstly you would be subjected to a pre-placement talk. This would last around for 30 to 45 minutes. Basically they would talk about their whole roots and origin, their current position in the industry and most importantly they would discuss about their working lifestyle. After this you would be subjected to an aptitude test. However one more thing to get clarified is that Xoriant is not a bulk recruiter and usually takes two or three candidates and this was the case in my campus. And as of 2014-2015, Xoriant was offering Rs 4.5 lakhs for new recruits in Mumbai region.

Online Aptitude Test:
As usual the aptitude test is conducted online. One thing which I found that in its aptitude test, Xoriant even gives a programming question for a challenge. That is aptitude and programming questions were integrated. Even more interesting fact was that all those who cleared the aptitude were only those who could get through this programming challenge. In 2014-2015 recruitment process there were two Programming questions asked, basically we were given the task to write two programs. Programs were kept at the end of the normal aptitude questions and were evaluated by an online compiler that was integrated within their aptitude software itself. This was the new process that was introduced especially for 2014-2015 batch. Further moving into detail we were specifically given two programs based on Set (Collection Interface) and Map of Java Data Structures. Group Discussion:
All the candidates who have cleared aptitude cum programming challenge test are now subjected to Group Discussions (GD). Frankly speaking there was a sharp decline in those who got selected for GD. From the total of 87 students who gave aptitude test only 17 finally got selected to the GD. In my campus GD was taken in a two groups of 8 and 9 candidates respectively. Now talking about the purpose of GD, basically the recruitment people were trying to figure out our communication skills and analyzing capability. For instance in my case, we were given a topic “If you were a government and given Rs 1000cr to be used for whole of India what would you invest on, whether on Eradication of Poverty or Space Programme ”. So basically this was a kind of question looking out for our analyzing skills. And finally from this round only around 8 candidates were selected for the Technical Interview Process.

Technical Interview:
In the technical interview there was nothing which I found different. Basically I would recommend all to have a thorough understanding of your project. Basically say if you were building some software on say MVC architecture then you should have a good understanding of the architecture itself. So it is essential for you to have a deeper insight of your project. Further you would be asked some simple programming questions like write a logic for Printing Fibonacci Series in reverse order say from number 13 to 0 onwards (i.e. 13,8,5,3,2,1,1,0 ). These were few questions to which I was subjected.

HR & Management Interview:
From the group of 8 students only 5 got selected for HR Interview process. And again in HR there was nothing different. To prepare for HR questions “Click here”. And finally, only 3 candidates were selected by Xoriant from my campus.This was all about Xoriant Placement Process.

Note: This was entirely based on my experience. And I no way assure that you would be undergoing through the same process. This was the procedure followed for 2014-2015 candidates.
